REGISTRATION CLOSED

2020 was a tough year. Let’s all build our respective power in 2021.

In 2020, women in the legal profession adapted to remarkable professional and personal changes. In many cases, we bore the brunt of the pandemic’s impact, especially women of color.

As attorneys, you’re used to fighting for others. Now is the time for each of us to aggressively grow our own power and come out stronger in the new post-COVID world.

In other words, fighting for ourselves, both as individuals and a collective group of powerful women!

This course was developed by a woman who made it to the top against the odds and will guide you on the path. It was tailored to the legal profession to speak directly to you and your challenges.

You will learn to:

  • Lead like a powerful woman in the legal profession, setting actionable steps to swiftly advance your legal career.
  • Become the CEO of your own life, identifying what differentiates you (your points of power) and how to effectively demonstrate your value.
  • Learn gender bilingual communication, learning the language of leadership and power so that you can self advocate effectively.
  • Master commanding conversations from the outset. With intention, you set the agenda and define your terms (on your own behalf).
  • Restructure power in a way that better suits everyone (not just women), shifting to the inspirational and generative “power to instead of the traditional and oppressive “power over.
  • Use this course to take the lead. Boost your confidence, authenticity, intentionality and joy.
Brought to you by

You will be prepared to advance your success and become more powerful in the inevitable transitions of 2021 and beyond.

Additional Takeaways:

  • Hear from diverse female leaders in law
  • Meet peers across the country who feel like you and/or have similar struggles
  • Strategically strengthen your network

Women in Law Leadership

Countless women have made great strides in earning law degrees and securing entry level positions upon graduation.

Yet, it’s evident that we are still a long way from gender parity in leadership. Women make up only:

30%

non-equity partners

28%

of general counsel in the Fortune 500

20%

equity partners

0%

of top 10 most highly compensated in most law firms

What if we worked together to achieve Take The Lead’s BOLD mission for women?

Take The Lead prepares, develops, inspires and propels all women of all diversities and intersectionalities to take their fair and equal share of leadership positions across all sectors by 2025.

Valerie Brown Allen
Senior VP, Alliance Bernstein

“I took your workshop a year ago and articulated that my personal action plan goal was to become vice president of my firm. I used the power tool, Use what you’ve got, to differentiate myself and demonstrate my value to the company.... Today, I was informed I am being promoted to vice president.”
